Over the past year we have continued to make more improvements to our NMS. We are proud to announce the release of SGRwin version 8.13.0, the latest version of our Network Management Solution. SGRwin 8.13.0 builds on the success of previous versions and has been developed with user feedback in mind. This release comes packed with significant improvements to optimise performance, enhance security and provide much deeper network visibility. Here is a closer look at some of the key highlights to expect in this new release:
One of the new features in this release is the redundancy functionality, that eases the database backup and redundancy processes. The system now supports incremental backups, which makes export and import operations faster and reliable. To manage redundancy efficiently, we’ve included a new monitoring service that continuously and automatically checks if the system and database are running. In the event of failure, the service will automatically start the database and system on the redundancy server ensuring uninterrupted operations. These innovations bring several key benefits, including continued system monitoring, minimal downtime and consistent high performance and availability.
This new feature includes capturing synchronization statistics (source, quality, status) from ConnectionMaster TDM equipment with daily or on-demand retrieval, displaying these statistics in equipment properties within inventory, and providing on-demand synchronization settings in the streaming layer with quality-level filtering. It also allows visualization of the number of synchronization hops from a selected device and supports administrative association of clock-type computers with transmission layer devices to display the list of devices using the clock.
The BI Asset and System Health Dashboards introduces two new dashboards:
We are also introducing a new External System Integration Tool, enabling seamless integration of domains (NMS, Domain Masters) and network elements via SNMP. Key capabilities include: Network Topology Integration for NEs, Units, Ports, Links, Alarm Management Fixed or Dynamic severity, Manual or automatic detection of SNMP Trap Events. The feature simplifies NMS template creation with an Integration Wizard and automates the generation of assets, alarms, and links for improved network management.
We have also included Quality of Service (QoS) tools for granular control over network traffic, optimising performance for critical applications. A new MPLS-TP Traffic Profiles feature has been added, which enables:
These capabilities are essential for ensuring optimum network performance, especially in environments where multiple applications compete for bandwidth.
SGRwin 8.13.0 now includes a feature to auto-detect asset changes, ensuring the Asset Inventory is always accurate and up-to-date. This feature enables operators to track critical asset details such as hardware versions, locations, and uptime, enhancing visibility and control. A list of SNMP parameters can be associated with a Device.
One of the standout new features in SGRwin v8.13.0 is the Geographical Map View. Customers have long requested the ability to visualise network assets in a real-world environment, and this feature does just that. By incorporating GPS coordinates, users are now able to visualise and pinpoint asset locations on an interactive map. Zooming and layering options have also been included to help navigate in between different regions. This feature is especially useful for teams that manage distributed networks, enabling better decision making and fast issue resolution.
SGRwin 8.13.0 has introduced significant improvements in user and configuration management with features designed to enhance system security and administration.
SGRwin’s Ethernet capabilities have been expanded in v8.13.0. Now you can track your VLANs with the newly integrated ALM card for VLAN tracking. Provisioning of new virtual circuits like V-Eline, V-Elan, V-Etree, and more has become a walk in the pack. There is also a web manager interface for configuring carrier ethernet. These features offer improved scalability making it much easier to manage complex networks.
Additionally, we have included new system integration, among which include;
We’ve also expanded device support with new SNMP based integrations ― BPL ZIV 4ZBP, Alcatel-Lucent OS 6860N-U28, and Cisco Catalyst 9300-24T. Assets can be monitored using ICMP, Monitoring profiles, SNMP Trap alarms and intra-machine views with SVG modeling.
SGRwin now runs on new version of Apache Tomcat, ensuring compatibility, security, and performance enhancements.
The new SVG-based dynamic views provide detailed visualisation of network topologies, enabling faster troubleshooting and improved monitoring.
Today’s release marks yet another significant chapter for SGRwin NMS. With the release we’re proud of the progress we’ve made so far and are truly excited about the future of this product. As we continue to innovate, our clients’ feedback at the heart of our development process, guiding us as we explore new opportunities for improvement to create a more robust and reliable solution.
